Born in South Africa, Neil has been involved with horses and children all his life. Since coming to the UK in 1988, he has worked in a number of yards – showjumping, eventing, polo and polocrosse – and taught many adults and children to ride.

He also spent many years working with children in care, and assisted in the recent development of the Children’s Charter by Sir Roger Utting. In addition, Neil is a motivational coach for Chinnor RFC minis and Dinton CC juniors.

"Neil's greatest strength is his ability to inspire children with vastly differing capabilities. He is a keen judge of character and modifies his coaching style to suit each individual player. He focuses not only on game skills, but on fitness, diet and self-motivation to create a 'whole' player. He is able to get the best from each child, from a hesitant newcomer being introduced to tackling for the first time to an experienced forward learning the subtleties of the scrum. As one of the U10s said, 'Neil doesn’t hold anything back in trying to make me the best player I can be.' Neil was trained in the use of the Transeva by Winks Greene in South Africa.

Alongside the use of the Winks Greene Transeva to treat inflammatory-based injuries, Impulse Therapy also offers motivational support and equine-assisted psychotherapy for children and teenagers.

Radio and TV presenter Briggy Smale found the Transeva Impulse Therapy ‘quite simply amazing’. After just one 20 minute session, my sciatica disappeared. I haven’t had mobility like this for over 8 years. In that time, I’ve seen countless chiropractors and physiotherapists who used a variety of treatments such as ultrasound, acupuncture, deep tissue massage and chiropractic.

Whilst these methods provided some relief, I often felt worse for a couple of days before feeling better. With Impulse Therapy, the pain went and I felt I had more energy and much more fluidity in my limbs. I would recommend this treatment wholeheartedly.
